CTR-BlueLync
The CTR-BlueLync unit, as the name suggests, provides the "link electronics" required to connect the BlueSMiRF module to your radio's serial port. Its unique construction and simple assembly requires only basic electronic assembly skills.
You can "roll your own" interface by purchasing the BlueSMiRF RF module then using the schematics, board layouts. and assembly manuals provided on this web site, or you may choose to order a board kit, complete parts kit, or fully assembled unit.

Tigertronics Signalink USB
The Signalink USB gas a built in soundcard, connects your FT-897 to a USB port on the computer, leaving your soudcard for other uses. Rig type is set by a series of jumpers inside the box. There is some adjustment for input sensitivity via another jumper. Sound input an output must be set to USB Codec.
It is very easy to set up and really is plug and play.

Data connection for use with soundcard
This lets you use your soundcard as a TNC (with appropriate software). Soundmodem is a good program for linux (maybe osx, and solaris), there are similar programs for windows.
